The Flask Vessel is manufactured within third-party audited quality and social-compliance systems. This page records what is verified at the facility, what is verified for the product, and what is not yet verified at all.

We distinguish between the two. A certified facility is not a certified product, and we do not present one as the other. Where evidence is incomplete, this page says so.

What it is

An austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, the standard grade specified for food and beverage contact surfaces.

Where it is used

The full interior surface — the only surface in sustained contact with the contents.

What it is

A dry thermoset finish applied electrostatically and cured, forming the matte exterior and the substrate the graduations are engraved through.

Applied at the certified manufacturing site. Formulation and supplier are under confirmation.

Pending verification

Vacuum cavity

What it is

The evacuated space between the inner and outer walls that provides thermal performance without insulating material.

Where it is used

Between the two walls across the full body. It is also why the usable capacity is 440 mL rather than the 500 mL the exterior form suggests.

What is documented

Vacuumizing is a sub-contracted process, disclosed on the facility's BRCGS certificate scope.

Lid and seal

What it is

A stainless lid body with a polymer sealing element.

Where it is used

The closure. The seal is a food-contact component.

What is documented

The seal polymer is under confirmation with our manufacturing partner.

Pending verification

The Flask Vessel has not been submitted for product-specific laboratory testing.

We hold current third-party certifications for the facility where it is manufactured. Those certify the facility's systems and processes. They do not test this product, and we do not present them as though they do.

Product-specific testing — California Proposition 65, CPSIA lead content, and US food-contact evaluation under 21 CFR — is under review with our manufacturing partner. This page will be updated with the report references when that work is complete.

If your vendor-approval process requires product-specific test data before an order can proceed, tell us at the point of quote. We would rather say this plainly now than have it surface during your review.

Manufacturing Standards

Four independent bodies have audited or certified the facility where the Flask Vessel is manufactured. Each covers a different thing. None of them certifies the product itself.

Certification marks are not displayed. Certificate numbers and validity dates are supplied on request for verification against the issuing body's public register.

BRCGS Global Standard for Consumer Products

Current through 23 July 2027

What it is

A certification standard for consumer-goods manufacturing covering product safety management, quality systems, hazard analysis, site standards and process control. Audited on site by a licensed certification body.

What it covers

The manufacture of stainless steel vacuum cups — metal working, injection, soldering, polishing, assembly and packing. Vacuumizing is performed by a sub-contractor and is identified as such on the certificate.

Issue 4, General Merchandise. Certified by Extensive Standard Technical Services.

Why it matters

It is the most direct third-party evidence that the facility operates a documented, audited product-safety and quality system rather than an informal one.

Recurring audit cycle

What it is

The Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit — an ethical-trade audit methodology assessing labour standards, health and safety, environmental performance and business ethics. The 4-Pillar version is the full scope; 2-Pillar covers only the first two.

What it covers

The manufacturing site. Conducted unannounced by Intertek.

Why it matters

Most institutional supplier codes of conduct reference SMETA or accept it as evidence. A 4-Pillar audit answers environmental and business-ethics questions that a 2-Pillar audit does not.

amfori BSCI

Current through 5 May 2027

What it is

A social-compliance monitoring system assessing thirteen performance areas including working hours, remuneration, freedom of association, occupational health and safety, child labour and environmental protection.

What it covers

The manufacturing site. Semi-announced full monitoring by TÜV Rheinland.

Why it matters

It provides a graded, per-area social-compliance record rather than a single pass or fail, which is what a supplier-diligence reviewer usually needs.

Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)

Current through 2 April 2027

What it is

A Textile Exchange chain-of-custody standard verifying recycled input material and tracking it through production.

What it covers

A certified scope at the facility for cups, mugs and bottles, covering moulding, manufacturing, finishing and printing. Certified by TÜV Rheinland; the on-site audit recorded no non-conformities.

Why it matters

It establishes that the facility is qualified to produce to a recycled-content standard when a programme calls for it.

Scope noteAn RCS scope certificate confirms the facility is certified to process recycled material. It is not proof that any specific goods contain certified recycled content — that requires a transaction certificate issued against a particular order. The Flask Vessel is not produced or sold under a transaction certificate, and we make no recycled-content claim for it. The capability is available for programmes that require it.

ISO 9001 and Intertek Supplier Qualification Program documentation has been requested from our manufacturing partner and is not yet in our possession. It is not represented on this page.

Manufacturing Partner

The Flask Vessel is produced by a specialist stainless-steel drinkware manufacturing partner in Zhejiang, China, operating within documented quality and social-compliance systems.

The facility's processes include metal working, welding, polishing, injection moulding, printing, assembly and packing. Vacuum forming is performed by a sub-contractor to the facility. Laser engraving and decoration for North American programmes are performed by TCC in Buford, Georgia.

We do not publish the facility's legal name, address or contact details. This is standard practice in this category and it protects a supply relationship we have invested in developing. It is not a reluctance to be examined.

Qualified buyers conducting formal supplier diligence can receive facility identification, certificate numbers and validity dates under a confidentiality agreement as part of a procurement packet.

Responsible Supply Chain

Independent auditing

Our manufacturing partner is audited under two independent social-compliance programmes — SMETA 4-Pillar and amfori BSCI — covering labour standards, working hours, remuneration, health and safety, business ethics and environmental management.

Findings

These audits identify findings. Ours have. We maintain an internal register of every finding recorded against our manufacturing partner, its corrective action and its closure status, and we review it on a fixed cycle.

We do not describe our supply chain as free of findings, because it is not, and a supplier that claims otherwise is either not being audited properly or is not telling you the truth. Buyers conducting formal diligence can discuss the current position with us directly.

Product longevity

The most consequential environmental property of a reusable vessel is how long it stays in use. The Flask Vessel is built as a single-material stainless body with a mechanical closure and no electronics, no adhesive laminates and no bonded plastic shell. Replacement lids, straps, cleaning tools and protective bases are stocked separately so a worn component does not retire the vessel.

Recycled-material capability

Our manufacturing partner holds a current RCS-certified scope for cups, mugs and bottles. We can produce to that standard for programmes that require it, under transaction certification. We do not apply the claim to standard production.

Domestic decoration

Engraving and decoration for North American programmes are performed in Buford, Georgia, which shortens the decoration leg of the supply chain and keeps proofing and quality control under direct control.

What we do not claim

  • We do not describe the Flask Vessel as BPA-free, food-grade, FDA-approved, Proposition 65 compliant, LFGB tested or REACH compliant. We hold no product-specific test data supporting any of those statements.
  • We do not describe the Flask Vessel as made from recycled steel. No transaction certificate has been issued for it.
  • We do not describe our manufacturing as ethical, sustainable, responsibly sourced or carbon neutral. We have audit records, not conclusions, and those terms would overstate them.
  • We do not describe the Flask Vessel as certified to any standard. The facility holds certifications. The product does not.

Certifications held by our manufacturing partner are that partner's property. We supply them to qualified buyers under confidentiality where our agreement permits, together with certificate numbers so you can verify them independently against the issuing body's public register.
