Product information

Capacity
440 mL / 15 fl oz usable. Built to the exterior dimensions of a 500 mL Erlenmeyer flask; the double wall and lid assembly occupy some interior volume.

Material
304 stainless steel, interior and exterior.

Insulation
Double-wall vacuum construction.

Finish
Matte powder coat in five standard colourways.

Markings
Volumetric graduations laser-engraved through the powder coat to the steel beneath — removed finish, not applied ink, so they cannot wear off.

Shipping
In-stock, non-engraved orders ship from our Georgia facility within 1–2 business days with tracking. Engraved orders take longer to allow for personalisation. Domestic laser-engraved bulk runs ship in about 7–10 days.

Care
Hand washing is recommended to preserve the powder coat, engraving, and lid components. Do not microwave.

Use
Water, coffee, tea, and everyday beverages. This is a drink vessel inspired by laboratory form — not laboratory equipment. Never use with chemicals or reagents.

Returns
Unused standard products may be returned per store policy. Personalised and custom orders are final sale unless defective.

We accept government purchase cards (GPC / SmartPay), university and hospital purchasing cards, and institutional purchase orders. Federal purchases under the $15,000 micro-purchase threshold can be placed directly on a purchase card.

Net 30 is available on approved institutional accounts, and a W-9 is provided on request. Written quotes are returned within one business day.

Volume pricing is published in full — from $30.00 per unit at 25 units down to $20.00 at 1,000 — with one laser-engraved logo included at every tier. Email wholesale@thecalculatedchemist.com with your quantity, colourway, and in-hands date, or request a $25 spec sample, credited toward your first order.

S-01

≈440 mL Capacity

Built to the exterior dimensions of a 500 mL Erlenmeyer flask. Double-wall construction and the secure lid assembly occupy some internal volume, resulting in a true usable capacity of approximately 440 mL.

S-02

304 Stainless Steel

Both the interior and exterior are formed from 304 stainless steel, a durable material selected for daily drinkware use. It gives the Flask Vessel structural strength while preserving a clean, instrument-like feel.

S-03

Double-Wall Vacuum Insulated

A vacuum-sealed space between two stainless steel walls slows heat transfer through the vessel. This insulated construction helps maintain the temperature of the contents while preserving the Flask Vessel’s clean outer form.

S-04

Matte Powder Coat

A fine-textured matte powder coat softens reflections and gives the vessel a controlled, tactile surface. The restrained finish protects the stainless exterior while reinforcing the object’s precise, laboratory-inspired character.

S-05

Laser-Engraved Markings

Volumetric graduations are laser engraved through the powder coat to reveal the stainless steel beneath. Because the markings are created by removing finish rather than applying ink, they remain crisp and integral to the vessel.

THE OBJECT

What is an Erlenmeyer flask?

An Erlenmeyer flask is laboratory glassware with a flat circular base, a body that tapers upward into a cone, and a short cylindrical neck. Designed in 1860 by the German chemist Emil Erlenmeyer, it is the shape most people picture when they picture a laboratory. The geometry is not decorative: the narrow neck lets a solution be swirled without spilling, the smaller opening slows evaporation, and the wide flat base resists tipping on a crowded bench. Graduation marks up the side read approximate volume at a glance — indicative rather than precise, which is why exact measurement calls for a graduated cylinder or a volumetric flask.
The qualities that make it good glassware make it good drinkware. What does not translate is the material: laboratory glass is fragile, uninsulated, and open at the top. The Flask Vessel keeps the geometry and changes everything else — 304 stainless steel instead of borosilicate, double-wall vacuum insulation instead of a single exposed wall, a leak-resistant lid instead of an open mouth, and calibration markings engraved through the powder coat rather than printed on it.

AGAINST DISPOSABLE SCIENCE SWAG

Not another catalog object with a science graphic printed on it.

Most science merchandise starts with a generic product and adds a periodic table, molecule, or lab joke. The result is often disposable, forgettable, and disconnected from the material culture of science.

ENEMY RECORD

Flask Vessel as an original, durable scientific object, not disposable promotional swag

GENERIC SCIENCE SWAG

Graphics added after the fact.

A standard catalog item with a science reference printed on the surface.
  • Printed novelty references
  • Generic product silhouette
  • Short product life
  • Easy to forget or discard

THE FLASK VESSEL

The scientific object as the starting point.

A recognizable scientific geometry rebuilt as a durable, daily-use vessel.
  • Original Erlenmeyer-inspired form
  • 304 stainless steel body
  • Permanent laser-engraved markings
  • Useful enough to keep in rotation

Made to be used. Built to be kept.

QUESTIONS & CARE

Use it daily. Treat it like a finished object.

The Flask Vessel is built for daily use, but the finish, lid, strap, and engraved details should be treated with the same care as any finished object.

Practical answers before purchase, use, and customization.

CUSTOM

R-01 What is an Erlenmeyer flask used for?
In a laboratory it is used for mixing, swirling, heating, and titrating solutions — anywhere the contents need to be agitated without spilling, or left to stand without evaporating. Its conical shape is what makes those tasks easier than they would be in a beaker. It is named after Emil Erlenmeyer, the German chemist who designed it in 1860, and is also called a conical flask or titration flask.
R-02 Is this actual laboratory equipment?
No. It is a drink vessel built in the shape of one. Use it for water, coffee, tea, and everyday beverages — never for chemicals, reagents, corrosive materials, or experimental substances.
R-03 Care Instructions
Hand washing is recommended to preserve the powder-coated finish, engraved details, and lid components. Do not microwave. Ensure the lid is fully secured before carrying.
R-04 Personalisation and engraving
Name or logo engraving is available as an optional add-on. It is laser-engraved into the powder coat — permanent, not printed. The primary position is the back of the vessel with the name or logo oriented vertically; the volume markings always remain on the front. Bulk orders can add lid-top engraving and customised fabric straps.
R-05 Shipping
In-stock, non-engraved orders ship from our Georgia facility within 1–2 business days with tracking. Engraved orders take longer to allow for personalisation. Domestic laser-engraved bulk runs ship in about 7–10 days, with longer timelines for large custom programs.
R-06 Returns
Unused standard products may be eligible for return according to store policy. Customized and personalised products are final sale unless defective.
R-07 Ordering in bulk for a team or event
Bulk orders start at 25 units with one laser-engraved logo included, and volume pricing is published in full at /pages/bulk-orders. Purchase cards, purchase orders, and net 30 on approved institutional accounts are accepted. Bulk and engraved orders are quoted and invoiced directly rather than checked out on the site.
